Disassembly.
WARNING
A compressor should never be disassembled while mounted to the engine.
CAUTION
Cover or plug aii openings to prevent contamination.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is potentially dangerous. Avoid repeated and
prolonged breathing of vapors and skin contact with the liquid. Do not use near
open flame, arcing equipment or other ignition sources. Always wear eye
protection and protective clothing. The flash point of P-D-680 is 1 00 to 138 deg. F
(38 to 59 deg. C).
(1) Before disassembly, clean compressor's exterior surface using dry cleaning solvent (Item 3,
Appendix E) and stiff brush (Item 44, Appendix E).
NOTE
Compressor crankcase, cylinder block and cylinder head are designed to be
assembled in different ways to meet various installation requirements. Matchmark
these parts to insure each part is reasembled in its proper position.
