(3) Visually inspect threads of parts removed for damage. Replace all those with damaged threads.
(4) Visually inspect all tapped holes and O-ring seal counterbores in trunnion housing (5) and pump
housing (2). Replace trunnion housing and/or pump housing if damaged.
(5) Check that passages in pump housing (2) are not blocked (as detailed in paragraph 4-9.).
(6) Check ball and needle bearings (53 and 12) as detailed in paragraph 4-9.
(7) Check spline of shaft (52) as detailed in paragraph 4-9. Replace shaft as required.

Assembly.
CAUTION
All parts should be coated lightly with hydraulic oil (Item 28, Appendix E) prior to assembly.
(1) Screw orifice plug (64) into "B" passage in right side of pump housing (2). Torque to nine ft Ibs (12
Nm).
CAUTION
Use all new seals, O-rings and back-up rings.
(2) Screw plug (63) with new O-ring into "B" port in right side of pump housing (2). Torque to 20 ft Ibs (27
Nm).
(3) Install new O-ring (62) in pump housing (2).
(4) Install servo piston (61) and servo spring (60) in bore in pump housing (2).
(5) Screw servo plug (58) with new O-ring (59) into pump housing (2). Torque to 120 ft Ibs (163 Nm).
(6) Install new shaft seal (57) in pump housing (2).
(7) Install new retaining ring (56) in pump housing (2).
(8) Install new retaining ring (55) on shaft (12).
CAUTION
Support inner race of ball bearing to avoid damaging it.
(9) Press shaft (52) into ball bearing (53).
(10) Install new retaining ring (54) on shaft (52).
(11) Insert assembled shaft and bearing into pump housing (2).
(12) Install new retaining ring (51) in pump housing (2).
(13) Install new O-rings (45, 46 and 47) and back-up rings (48, 49 and 50) onto spool sleeve (43).
