(2) Check tension of each spring using
valve spring compressor. Replace
spring when a load of less than 250 lbs
(1 13 kg) will compress it to 2.14 inches
(54.4 mm) in installed length.
(3) Install lower spring seat (3), spring (4),
upper spring seat (5), and nut (6) on
pushrod (7).
(4) Install push rod (7) in cylinder head (2).
(5) Position cam follower (8) so oil hole
points away from exhaust valves (9).
(6) Install cam follower (8) over push rod
(7) and into cylinder head (2).
(7) Install other push rods (7) and cam
followers (8) in same manner.
(8) Install cam follower guide (10), two
screws (11), and lockwashers (12).
(9) Tighten screws (11) to 12 to 15 lb-ft (16
to 20 N m).
