6-68. ENGINE FUEL SYSTEM

MATERIALS/PARTS REQUIRED:
Engine Enclosure Removed (see para 4-127.)
Cleaning Cloth, Lint Free (Item 42, Appendix E)
Heater Hoses and Fittings Removed (see para
5-31.)
Fuel Filters and Piping Removed (see para 4-130)
Thermostat Housings Removed (see para 4-137.)
a. Removal.
(1) Disconnect hose assembly (1) from block on electronic control unit (2) and from bulkhead fitting (3).
(2) Remove screw (4) and lock washer (5). Disconnect one hose assembly (6) from block on
electronic control unit (2) and from fitting at fuel pump.
(3) Disconnect remaining hose assembly (6) from fittings in cylinder head.
(4) Disconnect hose assembly (7) from fitting in cylinder head and from bulkhead fitting (3).
(5) Disconnect hose assembly (8) from fitting in cylinder head and from bulkhead fitting (3).
(6) Disconnect hose assembly (9) from cylinder head and bulkhead fitting (3).
(7) Remove two screws (10) and remove bracket (11) from water pump. Remove four nuts (12) and
remove bulkhead fittings (3) from bracket.
(8) Remove elbows (13 and 14). Remove adapter (1 6) from tee and remove tee (15) from cylinder
head.
(9) Remove elbow (17) from other cylinder head. Remove elbow (18) and bushing (19) from cylinder
head.
(10) Disconnect harness from sensor (20) and remove fuel pressure sensor (20) from tee (21). Remove
tee (21) and adapter (22) from engine.
(11) Remove adapter (23) and tee (24) from fuel pump.
(12) Disconnect wires from sensor (25) and remove sensor (25) from tee (26). Remove tee (26) and
plug (27) from engine.
