(8) Remove two O-rings (20 and 21), vee ring (22) and wiggler wire (19) from piston and ball assembly
(18). Discard two O-rings (20 and 21) and vee ring (21).
CAUTION
Use a twist tie to keep eight friction discs (16) and seven clutch
plates (17) in same sequence as removed; wear patterns have
been established and should not be disturbed by interchanging
discs and/or plates.
(9) Remove eight friction discs (1 6), and seven clutch plates (17) with clutch spring (15) and inner
clutch gear (14) from drive end of shaft (7).
CAUTION
Support inner race of bearing (13).
(10) Press driven end of shaft (7) out of ball bearing (13).
(11) Slide thrust washer (12), output gear (8) with two needle bearings (11) and spacer (10) from driven
end of shaft (7).
(12) Withdraw two needle bearings (11) from output gear (8).
(13) Remove retaining ring (9) from shaft (7). Discard retaining ring.
(14) Remove four hex head cap screws (27) and remove closed end bearing cover (28) with
oil seal (29) and gasket (30), from housing (26). Discard gasket.
(15) Press oil seal (29) from bearing cover (28). Discard oil seal (28).
(16) Remove set screw (31) from bottom of housing (26).
(17) Press idler shaft (31) slowly out of housing (26) while removing two each thrust races (32 and 33),
two needle thrust bearings (34), and input gear (35) with two needle bearings (36), and spacer (37)
from housing (26).
(18) Remove two needle bearings (36) and spacer (37) from input gear (35).
(19) Remove pipe plug (38) from end of idler shaft (31).
(20) Remove two pipe plugs (39) from two adapter plugs (40) in housing (26).
(21) Remove two adapter plugs (40) and two O-rings (41) from housing (26).
(22) Remove two O-rings (41) from plugs (40). Discard O-rings.
