Disassembly.
NOTE
Check residual fluid for burnt or other unusual smell.
Check for metal particles which may indicate damage or
excessive wear. Check for damaged or excessively worn
parts.
(1)
Remove four hex head cap screws (1) and remove open end bearing cover (2) with back-up plate
(3), oil seal (4), gasket (5), and retaining ring (6). Discard gasket (5).
(2)
Remove retaining ring (6), back-up plate (3) and oil seal (4) from bearing cover (2). Discard oil
seal (4) and retaining ring (6).
(3)
Remove output shaft (7) with entire drive assembly (8 thru 25) out of open end of housing (26).
CAUTION
Support inner race of ball bearing (25).
(4)
Press drive end of shaft (7) out of ball bearing (25).
(5)
Remove retaining ring (24) from output shaft (7). Discard retaining ring (24).
(6)
Slide clutch back-up cylinder (23) and clutch piston and ball assembly (18) with wiggler wire (19),
Vee ring (22), and two O-rings (20 and 21) off end of shaft (7).
NOTE
Piston and ball assembly (18) can not be disassembled.

Remove piston and bail assembly (18) with two O-rings (20 and 21) and vee ring (22) from clutch
back-up cylinder (23).
