Install fourth clutch alignment fixture on fourth clutch assembly (4).
WARNING
Compressed air can cause injury. Compressed air in shop will not exceed 30 psi
(207 kPa). Use only with effective chip guarding and personal protective
equipment, goggles, shield, and gloves.
(3)
Apply air pressure to port (6) to lock up fourth clutch plates.
(4)
Hold air pressure in fourth clutch assembly (4) while other person removes fourth clutch alignment
fixture.
(5)
Continue to apply air pressure in fourth clutch assembly (4) while other person holds turbine shaft
(7) and installs forward clutch assembly (8) in transmission housing (5).
(6)
Stop applying air pressure when other person says forward clutch assembly (8) is fully seated in
transmission housing (5).
f. Follow-on Maintenance.
(1)
Install torque converter housing (see para 6-51).
(2)
Install control valve body (see para 6-62).
