(20) Both personnel position and hold torque converter housing (1) on rim.
(21) Both personnel remove front support assembly (3).
(22) Remove gasket (31) from torque converter housing (1).
(23) Remove bearing (32) from ground sleeve bore (33).

Cleaning and Inspection.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is potentially dangerous. Avoid
repeated and prolonged breathing of vapors and skin contact
with the liquid. Do not use near open flame, arcing equipment
or other ignition sources. Always wear eye protection and
protective clothing. The flash point of P-D-680 is 100 to 138
deg. F (38 to 59 deg. C).

Clean all metallic parts with dry cleaning solvent (Item 3, Appendix E) and inspect for damage. If
there is damage, replace parts.

Converter bypass valve spring, lockup shift valve spring, and main pressure regulator valve spring
must be replaced if load-height specifications, listed in Table a. are not met.
