(3) Install fuel injector (2) in injector tube. Install clamp (3), washer (4) and screw (5). Install washer
with curved side of washer toward clamp.
(4) Tighten screw (5) to a torque of 20 to 25 lb ft (27 to 34 N.m).
(5) Install washers (6) and adapters (7) in fuel ports of cylinder head. Connect fuel tubes (8) to
adapters and inlet and outlet ports of fuel injector. Tighten fuel tube nuts to a torque of 145 lb in.
(16.4 N.m).
(6) Connect electronic control wires (10) to terminals on injector (3). Secure wires with two screws
(11). Tighten screws securely.
d. Adjustments.
(1) Refer to Synchronous and Timing Reference Sensor (see para 6-28).
e. Follow-on Maintenance.
(1) Install engine brake retarder (see para 6-34).
(2) Install rocker cover (see para 4-140).
