Oil Pan Removed (see para 5-27.)
Engine Oil (OE) (Item 20, Appendix E)
Solvent, Dry Cleaning (Item 3, Appendix E)
Gasket (Figure 119, Appendix F)
a. Removal.
NOTE
Oil pressure regulator and oil pressure relief valves are identical
except for spring pin (5) location in body and use of flatwasher
(8A) in pressure regulator valve only.
PIN LOCATOR
A. REGULATOR (OPPOSITE COOLER SIDE)
B. RELIEF (COOLER SIDE)
(1) Remove two screws (1) (does not use washer No. 8A) and washers (2) and remove oil pressure
regulator valve assembly (3) from engine. Remove and discard gasket (4).
(2) Clamp the regulator in a vise with soft jaws. Remove spring pin (5) from body (6).
(3) Remove spring seat (7), spring (8) and flatwasher (8A) (pressure regulator valve only) and valve (9)
from body.
