Place clean cloth between teeth of camshaft gears (4 and 5).

Tighten nuts (30) on rear end of camshafts (1 and 3) to 300 to 325 lb-ft (407 to 441 Nm).

Tighten nut (24) on front end of left bank camshaft (3) to 300 to 325 lb-ft (407 to 441 Nm).
NOTE
Remaining nut on right bank camshaft is installed with water
pump drive gear.

Put two retainers (31) in mounting position on camshaft gears (4 and 5).

Install eight screws (32) in two adapters (33) and retainers (31).
(31)
Tighten screws (32) to 35 to 39 lb-ft (47 to 53 Nm).
