e. Shaft Assembly Repair.
(1) Remove shims (31) and spacer (32) from output shaft (13). Hold shims and spacer for
reinstallation during Unit Assembly, paragraph g.
(2) Remove tapered bearing cone (33) using gear puller.
(3) Lubricate lip of new seal (14A) with oil (Item 45, Appendix E) and with open side upward slide it down
output shaft (13) ail the way to gear teeth or until it fits snug over seal diameter of shaft.
CAUTION
Press bearing cone (33) onto output shaft by pressing on inner
race only. DO NOT press on roller cage or it may damage
bearing.
(4) Press bearing cone (33), with large end down, onto output shaft (13). Be sure bearing cone is seated
tightly against shoulder of output shaft. Old bearing cone may be reused if it was removed only to
replace seal.

Case Assembly Repair.
(1) Remove seal (14A) and discard.
(2) Lift bearing cone (15) out of case (14).
(3) Pull upper and lower bearing cups (35 and 36) and replace with new ones if needed.
(4) Clean all foreign material from magnetic fill and drain plugs (1 and 2).
