Cleaning and Inspection.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is potentially dangerous. Avoid repeated and
prolonged breathing of vapors and skin contact with the liquid. Do not use near
open flame, arcing equipment or other ignition sources. Always wear eye
protection and protective clothing. The flash point of P-D-680 is 100 to 138 deg.
F (38 to 59 deg. C).

Clean all parts in dry cleaning solvent (Item 3, Appendix E).
WARNING
Death or serious injury could occur if compressed air is directed against the skin.
Do not use compressed air for cleaning or drying unless the pressure is/has been

reduced to 30 psi (2.11 kg/cm ) or less. When working with compressed air,
always use chip guards, eye protection and other personal protective equipment.

Dry parts with compressed air.
(3)
Inspect bolts (4, 5 and 14) and nuts (2, 6 and 15) for damaged threads. Replace all those with
damaged threads.
(4)
Perform magnetic particle inspection on mounting brackets (1, 9, 10, 12 and 13) as detailed in
paragraph 4-9.

Installation.
CAUTION
Use new cab biscuits (8) when installing mounting brackets (1, 9 and 10). Install
new rubber pads on mounting bracket (12 and 13) before installing them.

Attach rear left and rear right cab brackets (12 and 13) to frame with two bolts (14) and nuts (15)
each. Torque to 55 ft lbs (75 Nm).
(2)
Install new cab biscuits (8) in mounting brackets (1, 9 and 10) before attaching brackets to frame.
(3)
Attach front left, front right, and side mounting brackets (1, 9 and 10) to frame with three bolts (5)
and nuts (6) each. Torque to 55 ft lbs (75 Nm).
