Straighten tab of lock washer (64) from slot in locknut (65) and then remove the locknut (65).

Remove flinger ring (66) and its driving grommet from the end of the driven shaft (67) with key
(68).

Remove four cap screws (69) and washers (70) that fasten housing (71) and gasket (72) to cap (42)
but do not remove the housing (71).

Under a press, support the assembly on the face of housing (71) and apply a press load to the slot
end of the driven shaft (67) and press shaft out of bearings (73 and 74), spacers (75 and 76), and
sprocket (26). Remove spacers (75 and 76) and sprocket (26).

Remove housing (71) and bearings (73 and 74) from cap (42). Remove and discard oil seal (77)
from housing (71).

Slide housing (12) off of bearings (78 and 79).

If not previously removed, remove cotter pins (82 and 83), lock nuts (84 and 85) and washers (86
and 87).

Pull outer bearing (78) from shaft (32); oil seal sleeve (88) will come off with the bearing. Remove
spacer (89), pull inner bearing (79) from shaft. Due to closeness of this bearing to hub end of shaft
(32), a split plate type puller may be necessary.

Tap out pilot bearing (90) if still in coupling shaft (32) by using a punch through the two access
holes in the coupling shaft for this purpose. Remove and discard oil seal (91).

Slide shift collar (35) from teeth on drive shaft (34).
(30)
Slide housing (11) from bearing (92) and press oil seal (93) from housing (11). Discard oil seal
(93).

With suitable puller, remove tachometer gear (94) and sleeve (95).
(32)
Remove spacer (95) and snap ring (97).
