Install retaining ring (22), yoke (23), and nut (24).
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is potentially dangerous. Avoid
repeated and prolonged breathing of vapors and skin contact with
the liquid. Do not use near open flame, arcing equipment or other
ignition sources. Always wear eye protection and protective
clothing. The flash point of P-D-680 is 100 to 138 deg. F (38 to
59 deg. C).

Lightly coat threads of two plugs (25) and plug (26)
with pipe thread sealing compound (Item 2, Appendix
E) and install in rear cover (8).
e. Installation.
(1)
Soak six friction plates (1) in clean lubricating oil
(Item 10, Appendix E) for at least 2 minutes.
NOTE
Thick external steel clutch plates must be installed on top of stack
for proper pressure distribution.
(2)
Install 10 clutch plates (1 and 2) in transmission
housing (3), starting with external steel plate (2) and
alternating with internal friction plate (1).

Install rear planetary ring gear (4) in transmission
housing (3).

Install three clutch plates (1 and 2) in transmission
housing (3), starting with external steel plate (2) and
alternating with internal friction plate (1).
