Install pinion (5) in center carrier assembly (4).

Press pinion pin (6) in carrier until both ends of pinion pin are
equal.

Remove center carrier assembly (4) from press.
(9)
Stake both ends of pinion pins (6) in four places.
WARNING
Adhesives, solvents and sealing compounds can burn
easily, can give off harmful vapors, and are harmful to
skin and clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away
from open fire and use in well-ventilated area.
If
adhesive, solvent, or seal- ing compound gets on skin or
clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.
(10) Apply lubricating sealing compound (Item 31, Appendix E) to
bushings (7 and 8).
(11) Position bushing (7) at bore of small end of sun gear shaft (9).
Align interlock split in bushing so it is more than 45 degrees
from swaging hole in sun gear shaft.
(12) Using end of bushing installer tool (Appendix B, Section 111,
Item 67) marked .360, press in bushing (7).
(13) Using end of bushing installer tool marked .260, install bushing (8) in larger end of sun gear shaft
assembly (9). Align interlock split in bushing so it is more than 45 degrees from swaging hole in sun
gear shaft.
