6-48. FLYWHEEL ASSEMBLY - Continued
e. Installation.
(1)
Install lifting bracket (Appendix B, Section
III, Item 59) with two screws (1) and washers (2).
(2)
Coat turbine shaft seal ring (3) converter
seal ring (4) with lubricating oil.
(3)
Install turbine shaft seal ring (3) in groove
and snap ends together.
(4)
Install converter seal ring (4) on torque
converter pump (5).
(5)
Coat torque converter thrust pads (6) with
lubricating oil.
(6)
Align and install flywheel (7) so flywheel
fits flush against torque converter pump (5) while other
person operates lifting device.
(7)
Install one screw (8) and washer (9)
through hole (10) in flywheel (7). Tighten screw until
snug.
(8)
Remove lifting device from lifting bracket.
NOTE
Lifting bracket is used to turn flywheel for access to
screw holes inside converter housing.
(9)
Install 29 screws (8) and washers (9)
through holes (10) in flywheel (7). Tighten screws until
snug.
