General.    A  DC  power  supply  (fig.  8-17)  is  a  conversion  device  which  converts  alternating  current  from  a primary source into direct current for use as a power source for various pieces of electronic equipment. b. Control Function (fig. 8-17).  A description of the various controls and their functions is as follows: (1) DC VOLTS meter (1) indicates the amount of dc voltage that is present at the output terminals (4 and 5). (2) DC AMPS meter (2) indicates the amount of dc current that is supplied at the output terminals (4 and 5). 8-23
