Battery acid (electrolyte) is extremely harmful. Always wear safety goggles and
rubber gloves, and do not smoke when performing maintenance on batteries. Wear
rubber apron to prevent clothing being damaged. Failure to comply may result in
injury or death to personnel.
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools
contact positive electrical circuits, a direct short may result. Failure to comply may
cause damage to equipment and/or injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Tag and mark wires and cables prior to removal to ensure proper installation.
Only remove faulty cables from battery terminals as required.

Remove locknut (4), three wires (5), (6), and (7), cable (8), screw (9), two wires (10) and (11), and two cables
(12) and (13) from battery cable terminal (14). Discard locknut.
4.
Loosen nut (15) and remove battery cable terminal (14) from battery post (16).
