Install fourth clutch housing (11) in hydraulic press.

Compress piston release spring retainer (13) with
clutch spring compressor (Appendix B, Section lll,
Item 73) and press. Install retaining ring (14).

Release pressure from piston release spring retainer
(13) and remove clutch spring compressor.
(18)
Remove fourth clutch housing (11) from press.
(19)
Install 10 clutch plates (2 and 3), starting with external
steel plate (2) and alternating with internal friction
plate (3).
(20)
Install backplate (4) and retaining ring (15).
e. Installation.
(1)
Apply lubricating oil (Item 10, Appendix E) to inner
bearing race (1) and bearing (2) and install on center
support housing hub (3).
CAUTION
Keep seal rings sealed in packages until ready to use to keep seal
rings from being damaged.
(2)
Roll new seal rings (4) one-half length and hold for at
least 10 seconds.
(3)
Install one new seal ring (4) in lower groove on center
support housing hub (3).
(4)
Install other new seal ring (4) in upper groove on
center support housing hub (3).
