6-51. TRANSMISSION HOUSING
b. Cleaning and Inspection.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is potentially dangerous. Avoid
repeated and prolonged breathing of vapors and skin contact
with the liquid. Do not use near open flame, arcing equipment
or other ignition sources. Always wear eye protection and
protective clothing. The flash point of P-D-680 is 100 to 138
deg. F (38 to 59 deg. C).

Clean transmission housing and all metal parts with dry cleaning solvent (Item 3, Appendix E).
(2)
Inspect parts for damage. Replace damaged parts.
(3)
If signs of damage to transmission housing are noted, replace transmission housing.

Assembly.
NOTE
Install new seals and gaskets when assembling unit.
(1)
Install five studs (1) and transmission breather (13).
(2)
Install reverse signal switch (2).
(3)
Install fourth clutch pressure tap plug (3).
