g. Disassembly of Pump Body.
WARNING
Serious injury could occur Hf
heavy equipment is moved/
lifted without sufficient person-
nel to do the job. Use proper
physical lifting procedures or
use a suitable lifting device or
dolly.
Wear safety shoes,
gloves  and  other  suitable
protective  clothing.
Area
should  be  clear  of  other
personnel.  Serious injury or
death can result from falling
objects.
(1)
Remove transmission (see para a.).
(2)
Remove one cap screw from each corner near
dowel pin locations, and install 1/2 in. threaded
rods, hex nuts, plain washers, and pipe nipples, or
use transmission jack to support cover. Remove
all remaining cap screws which attach volute
cover (1) to body (2). Use two of the removed
cap screws inserted into the threaded holes next
to the dowel pins to jack the cover away from the
body.
(3)
Turn upper hex nuts on threaded rods down
evenly to lower the volute cover (1), or lower the
transmission jack. Impeller shaft assembly (3) will
come down with volute cover (1).  BALANCE
MUST BE MAINTAINED.
(4)
Carefully remove impeller shaft assembly
(3) from volute cover (1).
