the valve keepers by compressing the valve

REMOVAL
a. Disconnect radiator by-pass and heater hoses.
b. Remove cross-over and thermostat housing
assembly.
c. Remove cylinder head bolts (1) (17 each side).
d. Remove cylinder head (2).
