TM 5-4210-220-34 3-7. TRANSMISSION-Continued (18) If  removed,  replace  the  dowel  pins  (8)  in  the  mounting  face  of  the  rear  cover.    The  dowel  pins  project 0.360-0.400 in. (9.14-10.16 mm) above the face of the cover. (19) If removed, install the governor support pin (20) using J28684.  Accuracy of location and concentricity with governor bore is of the utmost importance when Installing the pin. (20) If  removed,  install  a  new  speedometer  driven  gear  bushing  (15).    Use  installer  J24205-1  to  seat  the bushing in the rear cover. (21) Lubricate seal rings (5 and 6) with transmission fluid (item 9, Appendix B) and install them into the grooves of piston.  The lip of each seal ring must face the rear of the piston (toward piston cavity in rear cover). (22) Using inner seal protector J24210, carefully install the piston (4) into the rear cover (9).  Use extreme care to  prevent  the  lip  of  either  seal  folding  back  over  itself.    If  installation  is  difficult,  remove  the  piston  and check the seal and cover bore before again attempting installation. 3-62
