WARNING
Never reuse locking hardware. Reuse of locking hardware such as lockwashers,
locking nuts, cotter pins, and lockwire can result in undetected loosening of fas-
tening hardware causing catastrophic component failure resulting in death, in-
jury, or damage to equipment. In accordance with TB 43-0218, ensure that all
locking hardware is discarded upon removal and replaced with new.
DISASSEMBLY
1. Mount the bearing housing foot (figure 1, item 1) to a bench to support the diesel engine-driven firefighting
pump (figure 1, item 2) during disassembly.
2. Place a suitable drain pan under the diesel engine-driven firefighting pump's drain plug (figure 1, item 3).
Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain into the suitable drain pan.
3. Remove the vent plug (figure 1, item 4) from the bearing housing (figure 1, item 5).
4. Remove the sight glass (figure 1, item 6) from the bearing housing (figure 1, item 5).
