Remove rings, wristwatches, neck chains, and any other jewelry before working
around vehicle. Jewelry can catch on equipment and cause serious injury. Jewelry
and tools may short across electrical circuits and cause damage to equipment, or
severe burns or electrical shock to personnel.
CAUTION
When checking voltage in Step 9, red voltmeter lead must be connected to battery
equalizer 24-volt terminal, and black lead must be attached to 12-volt terminal.
Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Prior to taking voltage measurements, ensure all portable handheld radios are fully seated
in their chargers.
