6-5. ROCKER ARM, SHAFT AND PUSH ROD MAINTENANCE. (Continued)
d. Remove pushrods (3).
e. Insert a screw river into the rocker arm shaft

bore and break off the end of the nylon rocker
arm retainers.
f. Remove the rocker arm retainers (4) with pliers.
g. Remove the cotter pin (5) from the shaft and
slide the rocker arms off the shaft.
INSPECTION
Check rocker arm assembly and push rods for
damage and excessive wear. Replace if damage
is evident.
INSTALLATION
a. Slide the rocker arms onto the rocker arm shaft
