4-84. FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT.

Engine OFF
Transmission in (N) neutral.
Materials/Parts
Parking brake and micro-brakelock set
Fuel Filter (25055272)
REMOVAL
WARNING
The water/diesel fuel mixture is flammable,
and could be hot. To help avoid personal
injury and/or property damage, do not touch
the fuel coming from the drain hose and do
not expose the fuel to open flames or
sparks. Be sure you do not over fill the
container.
Heat can cause the fuel to
expand. If the container is too full fuel
could be forced out of the container. This
could lead to a fire and the risk of personal
injury and/or vehicle damage.
c. Disconnect both bail wires (3).
d. Remove the fuel filter (4).
a. Place an explosion proof container under the
filter drain hose.
NOTE
Clean any dirt from the fuel sealing surfaces
b. Open the air bleed (1) and the water drain valve
of the filter element and the filter adapter
(2) and drain the fuel.
