The time saved by using the method of half-splitting depends on the length of the faulty path and the
location of the fault within the path. On the average this method is almost twice as fast (requires 1/2 the
measurements) as the serial method of tracing the signal from A to I for the 8-stage circuit example.
The savings are even greater for circuits with more stages.
