Springs, retaining rings, and snap rings are under extreme spring tension and can
act as projectiles when being removed. Ensure all personnel wear protective
goggles. Failure to comply could result in serious injury to personnel.
1.
Remove snap ring (1) and control cable eye swivel (2) from control cable (3). Discard snap ring.
NOTE
Note position of collar on control cable prior to removal.
2.
Remove set screw (4) and collar (5) from control cable (3).
3.
Remove two rubber collars (6) and (7) from control cable (3).
NOTE
Note position of collar on control cable prior to removal to ensure proper installation.
4.
Remove set screw (8) and collar (9) from control cable (3).
5.
Remove nut (10) from cable (3).
6.
Remove preformed packing (11) from nut (10). Discard preformed packing.
7.
Remove preformed packing (12) from inside of nut (10). Discard preformed packing.
