APU ENGINE CRANKS SLOWLY
Step
1.
Sample lubricating oil.
Change lubricating oil to correct viscosity. Refer to Chapter 3.

Loose or corroded starter motor or battery terminals.
Tighten, clean, or replace starter terminals.
Step
3.
Batteries not fully charged.
Charge or replace batteries.
Step
4.
Low ambient temperature.
Operate generator preheating system (see para 2-16).

ERRATIC APU ENGINE OPERATION
Step
1.
Check fuel filter.
Replace filter if blocked (see para 4-210 and 4-211).
Step
2.
Check truck battery charge.
Recharge batteries if very low.

Notify Direct Support.
