4-54. BACK-UP ALARM REPLACEMENT

Battery Selector Switch OFF.
Batteries Disconnected.
Materials/Parts
Compartment Light (M393)
REMOVAL
a.
Remove two screws (1) securing lens (2) to light
assembly.
b.
Remove lens (2).
c.
Remove two screws (3), washers (4), and nuts (5)
securing light assembly to vehicle compartment.
d.
Disconnect wiring to light assembly.
e.
Remove housing (6) and gasket (7).
REPAIR
a.
Remove old bulb (8) by pressing inward and rotat-
ing counterclockwise 90 degrees.
b.
Install new bulb (8) by pressing inward and rotating
clockwise 90 degrees.
INSTALLATION
a.
Install light assembly housing (6) and gasket (7) to
vehicle compartment.
b.
Connect wiring to light assembly.
c.
Secure light assembly with two screws (3), washers
(4) and nuts (5).
d.
Install lens (2) with two retaining screws (1).
e.
Reconnect battery cables.
