(1) Drain the coolant from the cylinder block, as some coolant may remain in the cooler if only the radiator is drained. (2) Loosen the hose clamps (7), and slide the hose (8) toward the connector (3) on the left bank thermostat housing. (3) Remove the capscrews (6) that secure the water outlet tube (5) to the cylinder block. Remove and discard gasket (4). NOTE Do not remove the four bolts in the top face of the aftercooler, as they are part of the aftercooler and need not be removed for any reason. (4) Remove and discard the locking bolts that secure the aftercooler (1) to the cylinder block. (5) Carefully maneuver the aftercooler (1) from the cylinder block, making sure not to damage the cooler fins. (6) Remove and discard the seal rings (2) from the grooves in the water inlet and outlet tube ends of the aftercooler (1). 3-126
