REMOVAL
(1)
Remove cable end (9) from revolution counter drive housing (4).
(2)
Remove two capscrews (1), lockwashers (2), and flat washers (3).
(3)
Pull revolution counter drive housing (4) and pinion (5) from bearing housing (8). Make sure thrust button (6)
is removed with revolution counter drive pinion.
INSPECTION
(1)
Inspect revolution counter drive housing for cracks or corrosion that may cause a lubricant leak.
(2)
Inspect revolution counter drive pinion for worn or damaged gear, corrosion or wear.
(3)
Discard thrust button whenever revolution counter drive pinion Is replaced.
INSTALLATION
(1)
Slide revolution counter drive pinion (5) into revolution counter drive housing (4).
(2)
Apply grease (item 16, Appendix B) to thrust button (6) and install into recess in revolution counter drive pinion
(5). Support pin (7) is pressed into the inner wall of bearing housing (8).
(3) Install revolution counter drive assembly into bearing housing (8). Aline mounting holes and secure revolution
counter drive housing (4) to bearing housing using flatwashers (3), lockwashers (2) and capscrews (1).
(4)
Tighten capscrews to 24 ft lb (33 Nm).
(5)
Attach cable end (9) to revolution counter drive housing (4).
