e. Remove the parking brake assembly.
f. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
The parking brakes must be
adjusted whenever the parking
brake cables have been replaced
or disconnected. Also if the brake
holding ability is not adequate.
Before adjusting the parking
brakes, check the condition of the
brakes must be adjusted properly
before proceeding with the parking
g. Be sure the front wheels are properly blocked,
then raise and support the rear axle with
suitable jack stands.
h. Loosen the equalizer nut (4).
i. Set the parking brake pedal to four clicks.
j. Adjust the equalizer nut (4) until the wheels will
not rotate forward without a moderate drag.
k. Release the parking brake and rotate the rear
b. Install the parking brake assembly to the kick
wheels. If properly adjusted, there should be no
panel with the bolt (2) and torque to 150 in . lbs
l. Remove the jack stands.
c. Connect the release rod (3) to the brake
m. Lower the vehicle.
d. Install the nuts (1) to the bolts attaching the
parking brake frame to the firewall.
e. Torque the nuts to 150 in-lbs (17 N-m).

f. Check the parking brake operation. If further
adjustment is necessary adjust accordingly.
