4-214. PARKING BRAKE REPLACEMENT (Continued).
e. Remove the parking brake assembly.
f. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
NOTE
The  parking  brakes  must  be
adjusted  whenever  the  parking
brake cables have been replaced
or disconnected. Also if the brake
holding ability is not adequate.
Before  adjusting  the  parking
brakes, check the condition of the
service  brakes.
The  service
brakes must be adjusted properly
before proceeding with the parking
brake adjustment.
g. Be sure the front wheels are properly blocked,
then raise and support the rear axle with
suitable jack stands.
h. Loosen the equalizer nut (4).
i. Set the parking brake pedal to four clicks.
j. Adjust the equalizer nut (4) until the wheels will
not rotate forward without a moderate drag.
k. Release the parking brake and rotate the rear
