TM 5-4210-220-12 Table 4-1.  Unit PMCS - Continued W - Weekly M - Monthly S - Semi-Annually M - Monthly B - Bi-Annual ITEM ITEM TO BE INSPECTED/PROCEDURE NO. W M S A B Inspect water pump body for cracks or excessive wear.  Check priming hoses for leaks or wear.  Refer to Direct Support if any are found.  Check fuel tank cooling fan operates while pump is operating in structural mode. 17 FOAM SYSTEM: Operate foam system with known flow of agent though nozzle and foam meter set for 3% solution.  Check foam mix is 3% by discharging tank of water (660 gallons) and measuring amount of foam used.  Should be 20 gallons.  May use a dye solution to check calibration rather than foam concentrate.  With foam tank empty, set up foam system for flushing but open foam tank valve.  Ensure no water backfeeds to foam tank Replace check valve if it does not seat. 18 Check all pipe/hoses for leaks while fire pump is operating.  Set up structural flow of 500 gallons/minute at 250 psi.  Close discharge valves slowly.  Ensure engine speed decreases quickly and pump pressure does not exceed 280 psi before levelling out at 250 psi.  Open discharge valves quickly and check pump pressure recovers to 250 psi within 5 seconds. 19 AUTOMATIC PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE: With pump operating, close discharge valves quickly.  Be sure pressure relief valve on discharge manifold in pump body opens at 275 psi and pump pressure does not exceed 280 psi.  Replace relief valve as required.  Refer to paragraph 4-18. 20 TURRETS: Set truck in pump-and-roll mode and check discharge pressure is 250 psi when secondary air pressure is in excess of 85 psi.  Adjust air regulator on brake pedal plate as required to obtain 250 psi pump pressure.  While discharging, check operation of turrets and inspect housings for leaks. 21 WATER PIPE DRAIN VALVES: When discharge stops, check turret heads drain automatically, replace automatic drain valves as required. Check operation of all pipe and pump manual drain valves. 4-11 Interval
