TM 5-4210-220-12 Table 3-1.  OPERATOR TROUBLESHOOTING - Continued MALFUNCTION TEST OR INSPECTION CORRECTIVE ACTION 2a FIRE PUMP WILL NOT PRIME Step 1.  Check all discharge valves are closed. Close all discharge valves. Step 2.  Check all suction caps fitted to suction ports not being used. Replace all suction caps. Step 3.  Check fluid level in priming reservoir. Refill with 50/50% of antifreeze and water as detailed in para. 2-13 e. Step 4.  Check suction hose screen (If pumping from draft) is below water level. Push screen well below surface. Step 5.  Check condition of suction hose and connection (if pumping from draft). Tighten connections or replace hose as required. Step 6.  Check tank valve open, if pumping from tank. Open tank valve. Step 7.  Check water in tank, if pumping from tank. Refill tank as required. 2b FIRE PUMP WILL NOT ENGAGE Step 1.  Check correct switching sequence has been carried out. Carry out correct switching sequence, (see para. 2-11). Step 2.  Manual PTO shutoff valve open. Close valve (on left hand side of pump body). 3-5
